The former UK leader, began the inaugural episode of her video series with a promise to unmask "the evil-doers" striving to undermine the UK, United States and European nations. Truss elaborated she would reveal how an "global web of progressives function to weaken the democratic process and the public's choice."

"Our focus will be on the Trump revolution and observe how this can be replicated in Britain," Truss declared. "Our guests will include the prominent voices of the Make America Great Again campaign."

Prior to the program's debut, there was a notably ardent backer. "This marks the start of a sort of political shift," remarked veteran reporter John Solomon. His conservative media outlet Just the News will carry the Truss's new broadcasts.

Forging Alliances in the Maga Media Ecosystem

Compatriot supporters, such as a pro-Reform adviser, played a role in her launch the her new show. Its staging is professional, if basic. Truss has amassed 10,000 subscribers in her debut week and her debut garnered 67,000 views in that timeframe.

It is a small opening, but in aligning with John Solomon, Truss is being pushed into a mature political media sphere creating and spreading pro-Trump narratives. Key fixations involve claims of media suppression by the traditional news outlets and a desire to remove a so-called administrative state – a force that she attributes her downfall to for the abrupt termination of her calamitous premiership.

"Solomon's outlet is not famous past the Maga-verse, but it does have gravitas there, largely because of its founder, who gives commentary on conservative outlets like Steve Bannon's War Room and has even spoken with the former president," noted Professor Alex Hinton, who has analyzed the Maga movement.

A Contentious Ally

Truss's attempt to bring the pro-Trump media model to Britain has drawn her nearer to divisive personalities such as the journalist.

He founded Just the News after criticism after he was accused of promoting misleading narratives about Joe Biden's anticorruption effort in the Ukraine, as well as disputed reports about ex-ambassador to that country.

Solomon's reporting were repeated within the conservative press, with he featuring as a regular guest on Sean Hannity's influential cable news broadcast. The former president personally boosted his stories.

The journalist published the allegations regarding Ukraine in a number of opinion pieces for the political newspaper the Hill, after having been re-designated as an opinion writer following internal criticism over his articles. His claims were pivotal in Trump's demand for the officials in Kyiv to investigate the Bidens in 2019. Those demands culminated in articles of impeachment targeting Donald Trump. Senators later acquitted the commander-in-chief.

Weeks after he exited the newspaper in late 2019, the outlet stated it was performing a review of his columns relating to Ukrainian matters. It determined the journalist had cited untrustworthy contacts and said he "did not disclose crucial information about main Ukrainian informants, including the reality that they had been formally accused or were being probed."

Joining the Network

Solomon's own broadcast spots are a sign of the right-wing media network Truss is entering. Solomon mentioned his endorsement of Truss's project on a program he presents on the conservative cable network, a political media platform that is where you find the pro-Trump commentator former adviser Steve Bannon and on which commentator Tucker Carlson also is seen. The ex-PM has already spoken with Bannon on one of her first podcasts.

Through her association with Solomon and Just the News, Truss has become a niche participant in a broader ecosystem of conservative media outlets that often amplify each other's content.

Solomon's own podcast and Real America's Voice show have repeatedly hosted personalities such as influencer Mike Benz, a rightwing influencer whose arguments against USAID was used by the X owner as reasoning behind dismantling the international development organization.

An International Strategy

Even though the former PM's unnatural presentation and career difficulties have invited ridicule in Britain, some US observers are not discounting her efforts to rebrand as a local version of the pro-Trump media ecosystem.

"One must regard individuals such as her as significant, despite the fact that you may not want to interpret them word-for-word," commented a former Biden White House aide, who was employed in the Biden White House.

"You saw how in 2024 Donald Trump used that alternative press to get his message out. Without a doubt that network spreads and shapes debate abroad. It appears relatively clear to me that the conditions in the UK are similar to what permitted this non-mainstream media network to thrive in the US."

Professor Alan Finlayson, said the digital right-wing media sphere was already exerting influence in the UK.

"Online platforms transcends national boundaries," Finlayson remarked. "There exists a sort of atmosphere within which ideas travel – sometimes manifesting in radical ways and occasionally in softer tones – but which is connected."

The academic said the rise of the digital conservative movement in the United Kingdom in recent times meant the "possibility to have a growing impact is considerable."
